The Parliamentary sitting scheduled for today, Wednesday, has been postponed to Thursday at 2pm, according to a memo sent to all MPs by Clerk to Parliament Adolf Mwesige.
The memo, issued at the request of Speaker Anita Among, cites the need to adjourn the sitting to Thursday.
The adjournment comes as Parliament was set to discuss several key issues, including the comprehensive report on the new O-level curriculum.
The report is highly anticipated, particularly by parents who have expressed confusion over the grading system for the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exams.
"As Parliament, we were looking forward to discussing the report on the new curriculum and addressing the concerns of parents and educators," said Mp Joseph Ssewungu.
"The adjournment to Thursday will give us more time to prepare and ensure that we have a productive discussion."
The new curriculum has been a topic of interest among educators and parents, with many seeking clarification on the grading system and other aspects of the curriculum.
The comprehensive report is expected to provide detailed information on the curriculum and address the concerns of stakeholders.
Parliament is expected to reconvene on Thursday at 2 pm, with the discussion on the new curriculum and other key issues high on the agenda.
